Purpose: Appreciation and awards ceremony for Hayneville youth and volunteers.
Engaging youth, strengthening
communities
For boys & girls ages 3-18
The Lowndes County Youth Count (LCYC) mission is to provide all children in Lowndes County with the opportunity to participate in wholesome community based sports activities.
It is our goal to offer a holistic program to educate and motivate youth, families, and community by means of positive sports activities.
Benefits of Youth Sports:
· Provide wholesome, character-building
activities.
· Provide opportunity for healthy physical
activity.
· Provide excellent educational opportunities
for social development.
· Provide an opportunity to improve a childıs
confidence, sense of accomplishment and to develop
a positive self image and
self worth.
· Provide the opportunity to develop healthy
social relationships with adults as well as peers.
Initial planned sports that will be
offered are:
· Baseball, Softball, T-Ball, Basketball,
Football, Cheerleading, Soccer, Volleyball, Track
Our objectives are:
· Develop good character.
· Teach positive life skills.
· Promote physical fitness and healthy lifestyles.
· Provide after-school extracurricular activity.
· Promote
teamwork and fun.
Seeking
interested persons to serve as volunteers, coaches, and/or mentors.

Lowndes County Youth Count
Teams Lowndes County Youth Count boys and girls teams competed in championship basketball games before a packed house Feb. 24, 2007 and came home with top trophies. The LCYC boys took first place against McIntyre at the Cleveland Avenue YMCA in Montgomery during a tight game which ended 51-48. Barry Blackmon, Jr., scored 19 points and was named MVP. Jarmacus Jordan scored 14 points and Joshua Burke added 8 points. Blackmon, Jordan and Burke are all from Hayneville. The LCYC girls came away with the second place trophy against a tough Cleveland Avenue YMCA team. Cleveland Ave beat out LCYC in an exciting 20-15 game with Amore McBride from Hayneville scoring 9 points. Everyone played well and displayed great sportsmanship. Congratulations!
