Children’s Policy Council
 

December 6, 2006

 

District Judge Terri Bozeman Lovell called the Lowndes County Children’s Policy Council meeting to order at 3:00 p.m. on December 6, 2006, at the Lowndes County Law Library.

 

The meeting was attended by Christine Bennett, Ark of Love; Dr. Daniel Boyd, Superintendent of Education; Judge Terri Bozeman Lovell, District Judge, Rev. Judge Bozeman Lovell welcomed Council members and introduction of members and guests followed.  The members approved the minutes of the October 4, 2006, meeting. 

 

Dr. Trellis Smith Williams from the Office of School Readiness made a presentation on the pre-K program for the Department of Children’s Affairs. The presentation sparked questions about the program in existence in Lowndes County and the problems that local non-profits have had maintaining the grant. 

 

Recognition was given to Faye Nelson for her years of service to Lowndes County and to the Lowndes County Children’s Policy Council.  Congratulations were extended to her for her promotion to Child Support Supervisor with the Alabama Department of Human Resources. 

 

Committee reports were given and announcements were made.

 

Refreshments and door prizes were shared with the members.

 

The meeting concluded at 4:30 p.m.
